First Friday AdorationEvery First Friday of the month, St. Ambrose hosts Eucharistic Adoration from 8:30am (after mass) until 11:15am with Benediction. Please come join in prayer for our vocations to religious life.

Prayer ServicesEvery 2nd Thursday of the month, Mother of Perpetual Help Devotions and the Rosary are said at 6:00pm.
Every 3rd Saturday of the month, Ultreya is held at 9:00am, where there is prayer time, witness talk, and sharing time. |

Meeting called to order and led in prayer by president Linda Yarbro.

Treasurer report read and approved
OLD BUSINESS
Bereavement Meals---3 bereavement meals were provided since our last meeting for Kevin Eftink, Clifford Pobst, and Richard Hodge. Circle 5 will be in charge of the next bereavement meal.
Prayer Shawls---No shawls have been given since last meeting, Members provided names of individuals and Glenda will make arrangements to get shawls to those mentioned.
Dumplings—Tentative dates for making dumplings are October 19/20, & November 2/3 or Nov 9/10.
10/10 Club---We will continue to do the 10/10 club as in years past
Euchre Tournaments--- Euchre tournaments will be scheduled for January and February. Specific dates will be set at next meeting.
Holy Water Fonts---Fonts in church have been cleaned and new liners inserted.
Bathroom Repairs—2 commodes, a vanity, sink, and shower head, and kitchen faucet have been replaced in the rectory/office.
Summer Catechesis--- Classes were well attended with 80-100 attending each night. Daughters provided meals for the classes and donations collected were used to help buy the food.
Bible Classes—Diane gave report on bible classes. Ten are attending this series.
Officers--- No change
NEW BUSINESS
School Dinner Auction--- Voted to make a monetary donation to the auction.
Father Birthday Oct 11 --- Daughters will give a card and gift.
Deanery Dues— Voted and approved to pay Deanery dues
PCCW Mass --- Oct 27 ladies will participate in mass that weekend.
Christmas Party --- Circle 4 is in charge.
Spring Assembly--- Diane attended and gave report on meeting .
Deanery 6 meeting --- St. Ambrose will be hosting the Deanery 6 meeting on November 19. Glenda and Alice will be on committee to plan for meeting.
Next meeting scheduled for Nov 21 at 6pm. Room count 9. Meeting concluded in prayer.

Parish Council Minutes
Members Present: Diane Eftink, Father Kelly, Brandy Schaefer, Donnie Reischman, Mary Beth Owens, Jake Swinford, David Glueck, and Kenny Dohogne.
The opening prayer was led by Diane Eftink.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read. Motion to approve the minutes by Donnie Reischman, seconded by Mary Beth Owens. Motion Carried.
St. Ambrose School Report:
Father said this is day two for the new school year and is off to a good start. There are 91 students.
September 28, 2024 is the School Dinner Auction.
PSR – PSR will begin next Wednesday, August 28, 2024. Diane presented the Budget and Expense Report for PSR for 2023-2024.
Bible Study- Discover the Mass by Dr. Brant Pitre will begin on Wednesday, September 18th from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. At present there is 10 participants.
Youth- Confirmation classes will begin on September 29, 2024 after the 10:30 A.M. Mass at Guardian Angel. There will be six classes in the fall of 2024 and six classes in the Spring of 2025. Confirmation is being planned for June 2025.
Fall events are being planned for the Junior High and High School youth. The youth attended the Steubenville Conference in Springfield.
The Finance Council will meet in early September.
Maintenance- Father advised that the parish is saving for a roof that needs to be replaced in about eight years on the Church. The tree in front of the rectory will be taken down in the next couple of weeks.
Social – The joint parish picnic with Guadian Angel did not happen and will look into something next spring. Father would like to have another Halloween Carnival -Trunk or Treat on October 26, 2024.
RCIA will start next Tuesday, August 27th and is open to everybody.
The Summit-Discovering The Family Mission put on by the Diocese of Springfield Cape Girardeau will be held on October 26, 2024 at St. Vincent De Paul in Cape Girardeau.
Liturgy and Worship- Father had the Catechesis classes this summer and went well.
27 people went on the Sacred Heart Trip on August 5th and 6th, 2024.
Rorate Mass will be on Saturday, December 7th at St. Ambrose this year.
The next meeting Parish Council Meeting will be Thursday, October 24th, 2024 at 6:00 P.M.
